Alex is a seasoned bilingual research and evaluation leader with over 17 years of experience providing technical oversight, leadership and execution of complex public health and international development programs. Alex is skilled at creatively applying innovative mixed methods to data collection design and implementation for evaluations, studies, and communication campaigns. She has applied these research skills in child trafficking, health systems strengthening, COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, Zika, reproductive health, and agriculture, with specific experience working with populations such as migrants, pregnant women, health care workers, people living with HIV (PLWH), transgender women, men who have sex with men (MSM), and injection drug users. Alex has successfully managed multidisciplinary teams and diverse projects.

During her time at Abt Associates, Alex was the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Lead for USAID’s Global Local Health System Sustainability Project. For this project, Alex spearheaded the development of standardized processes for research, evaluation and MEL plan development and management, supported Latina American and Caribbean (LAC) country teams in the implementation of their MEL plans, and managed reporting of COVID-19 indicators.
