Genevieve works on criminal and juvenile justice projects that address systemic challenges and embodies cross-discipline collaboration. Genevieve’s work primarily focuses on the courts and incorporates quantitative and qualitative research methods. Genevieve has received funding from the Department of Justice as well as foundations, including Arnold Ventures, Public Welfare, Charles Koch Industries, and Stand Together.

Genevieve is the co-Principal Investigator and Project Director for the following two projects: The Fiscal Impacts of Early Appointment of Counsel, and Advancing the Case for Early Access to Counsel in Police Precincts. As part of her role, Genevieve leads interviews with different stakeholders, oversees quantitative analysis of administrative data sets, liaises with funders, analyzes data, and communicates findings via reports policy briefs, webinars, and presentations.  

Before NORC, Genevieve was a policy program manager at the Urban Institute, overseeing the Justice Reinvestment Initiative Project funded by the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance. Prior to joining Urban, Genevieve was a senior policy advisor at the Justice Programs Office at American University where she was the project director of the Right to Counsel National Campaign.

Genevieve has authored numerous reports on the importance of public defense and the constitutional right to counsel as well as contributed to author justice-related publications.
