Gordon is a skilled digital strategist and marketer who specializes in building storytelling platforms that move people to action.

With more than two decades of experience in the nonprofit, education and philanthropic sectors, Gordon works with mission-driven organizations to increase the impact of their work through effective messaging and engaging content.

Prior to joining NORC, Gordon provided digital communications expertise and services to a wide range of nonprofit clients through his private consulting practice. Before that, Gordon was part of the founding team of Education Post, where he built and led a popular blog and media platform that amplified the voices of teachers and parents across the country and engaged millions of readers each year through both organic and paid channels. Through this work, he led dozens of advocacy campaigns across web, email, video, and social media that helped lead to meaningful policy wins for under-served communities.

Gordon’s experiences with research organizations and higher education include roles at Erikson Institute, London School of Economics, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, he oversaw website and electronic communications for the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, including the annual announcement of its vaunted Fellows Program online.

Gordon has a BA in psychology from Brown University and lives in Evanston, Illinois, with his wife, who is an educator, and their two children.
