Jennifer is an associate director in the Health Sciences department. Her areas of expertise include health insurance coverage, access to care, and the use of administrative health records.
Jennifer serves as project manager and task leader for the Design and Implementation of the Methodological Planning and Development Support Contract for the Data Linkages Program of the National Children’s Study (NCS). Additionally, Jennifer leads the Analysis Group for NORC’s data collection efforts on behalf of the NCS Regional Operations Centers. Jennifer is also Project Manager for a large project which provides research, technical and analytic guidance to DHHS around developing a strategy for a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research data infrastructure.
Prior to joining NORC, Jennifer was a Research Economist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services Research and Development service. Her work there focused heavily on “dual users,” veterans using both the VA and Medicare systems, and linking administrative claims files to examine patterns of use across these two systems. She also spent five years at the US Census Bureau as the subject matter expert for health insurance coverage issues in national household surveys and helped to launch the Small Area Health Insurance Estimates program.
Jennifer has presented her work at academic and professional conferences, including the VA HSR&D Annual Research Meeting and the Joint Statistical Meetings of the American Statistical Association (ASA). She is a member of ASA and AcademyHealth.
