NORC Research Scientist Stefan Vogler Receives Two Book Awards
CHICAGO, July 18, 2022 – NORC is proud to announce that research scientist Stefan Vogler has been honored with two book awards by the American Sociological Association (ASA).
Vogler, a research scientist in NORC’s Academic Research Centers, published Sorting Sexualities: Expertise and Politics of Legal Classification in 2021. The book explores the politics of the technological-legal classification of sexuality in the United States.
Sorting Sexualities received the ASA’s Sociology of Sexualities 2022 Distinguished Book Award, given to the best book in the area of sexualities, and the ASA’s Sociology of Law 2022 Distinguished Book Award, which recognizes an outstanding book in the sociology of law. The Sociology of Law award covers books published in 2020, 2021, or 2022; the Sociology of Sexualities award covers books published in 2020 and 2021.
