Middle States Commission on Higher Education COVID-19 Report
Problem
A higher education group needed a comprehensive look at pandemic-driven changes.
The COVID-19 pandemic required higher education institutions to make innovative changes to academic offerings and student support services, but we don’t understand the scope of those changes. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) wanted to better understand the changes their institutions made due to COVID to provide them with better support.
Solution
NORC is analyzing a new survey and drawing comparisons with a previous one.
NORC at the University of Chicago analyzed data from the MSCHE COVID-19 Institutional Response Survey: Winter 2021. The report included results from the new survey and comparisons to data from the MSCHE COVID-19 Institutional Response Survey: Summer/Fall 2020.
Result
Data on COVID-related changes in higher education will guide support services.
Information in the MSCHE COVID-19 Second Analysis Report showcased innovative ways institutions adapted, transitioned, and transformed their academic offerings and student support services in response to COVID-19. MSHCE will use these results to provide better resources, support, and programming to support these institutions.
