Lee Fiorio

Lee is a senior research methodologist with over a decade of experience in address-based sampling (ABS), GIS data analysis, and research methods. He specializes in the geographic aspects of survey methodology, including area probability samples, address frame construction, geocoding, and spatial data linkages. His project work covers ABS frame design, spatial analysis, and the use of administrative data for survey enhancement. Lee has worked on projects across several topic areas including education, religion, health, and demography.
In his time at NORC, Lee has worked with various clients including federal and state agencies, municipal governments, and not-for-profit clients. He is the technical lead on the City of Chicago and State of Illinois census challenge initiatives where he oversaw the linkage and analysis of heterogeneous administrative datasets. On the National Survey of Early Care and Education (NSECE), Lee constructed the address frame for the household sample and led the effort to enhance address list coverage using satellite imagery and tax parcel data.
Lee has substantive expertise in demography and demographic methods, particularly in the estimation of measures of human migration. His research is published in peer-reviewed journals in demography, geography, and survey methodology.
