Senior Research Scientist
Alexis provides technical assistance using an implementation science lens to increase access to care.

Alexis is a senior research scientist in the Public Health department at NORC. She has over 15 years of experience designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives in a range of topics including behavioral health, trauma-informed care, intimate partner violence, substance use disorder, mental health, HIV, and access to care. To these topics, Alexis brings skills in project and task leadership, qualitative data collection, site engagement, evaluation and implementation technical assistance, and implementation materials design. Alexis excels at connecting with grantees across demonstration sites, helping them understand their implementation processes using a mixed-methods implementation science lens and preparing for sustainable, long-term program integration.

Alexis currently serves as the Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Lead for two initiatives: for the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau Emerging Strategies to Improve HIV Outcomes for People Aging with HIV Initiative and the Department of Defense Evaluation Training and Technical Assistance Center (ETAC), evaluation assistance to support the prevention of sexual assault and other harmful behaviors to the Services, National Guard Bureau, and Coast Guard. Additionally, she serves as Project Manager and Strategy Development Task Lead for the HRSA IPV2 Strategy and Implementation Framework.

Prior to joining NORC, Alexis managed and provided evaluation TTA for the HRSA HAB Dissemination of Evidence Interventions Initiative, a first-of-its kind implementation science linkage and retention in care study. She supported implementation of evidence-based practices through two SAMHSA Evidence-Based Center guides addressing intervention strategies at the intersection of serious mental illness, substance use disorder, and chronic disease and technical assistance products integrating Violence Against Women Act guidelines into HUD public housing authority guides to improve service coordination and housing stability for people experiencing domestic violence. Alexis has extensive experience evaluating and supporting violence prevention and initiatives including the CDC Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancement and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA FOCUS) initiative, the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault Rape Prevention Education funding, and evaluability assessments on hospital-based violence prevention and interventions for the CDC.
